As a Respite Care Worker, you will provide personal care for children and adolescents with a variety of special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, cognitive delays, and behavioral challenges. Position Overview:

Status:  Late afternoon – early evenings

Pay: $10.50 – 13.50


  • Provide direct supervision and support to the children and families
  • Engage with activities such as daily living skills training - personal hygiene, food preparation, home maintenance, money management, community mobility, etc.
  • Assist with mentoring such as coaching through social situations, establishing routines and exploring community resources to achieve specific goals developed through an individualized support plan.
  • Provide options for socialization and recreational activities
  • Provide individual and/or group Respite Care to clients to give families relief from care giving responsibilities and incorporate and/or separately provide Skill Building to clients and/or siblings.
  • Bring a commitment to achievement, a passion for care, and a deep respect for those we serve through all your actions at GCS.


  • No experience necessary – paid training will be provided
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Due to the nature of our business, all employees are required to have a regular driver’s license, valid car insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
